I try to find a silver lining for each circumstance that I encounter in my life. I find it kind of fun being able to turn an upsetting situation into something positive. This is my last quarter at UC Davis before I graduate, and I was looking forward to making lasting memories with friends before I left Davis. But due to the recent pandemic and social distancing, we have all been in quarantine, and have been unable to go out since everything is closed anyway.

Goodbye picnics at the quad, goodbye lunch dates with friends, and goodbye last quarter of senior year. Online format was definitely not what I was expecting to experience in my last quarter, but things happen. Social distancing is hard to get accustomed to when you’re used to hanging out with friends daily, even if it’s just to study or grab a quick bite to eat. Spring quarter is my favorite quarter because the sun is out and more people stay on campus, so it feels livelier and more joyous. I expected to make so many new memories, especially since there are so many more events in the Spring. But I guess that everything happens for a reason, at least that is what I would like to believe.

Despite all these recent changes, I have found my silver lining, by being home and being able to be with my family despite being unable to go out. Although this was not the way I thought I would be spending my spring quarter, I am grateful to be healthy and well with my family.
