Job description: Director of Entertainment Council. My team and I provide on-campus entertainment for students usually for little or no cost. We help put on concerts, movie screenings, Open Mic Nights, quad shows, and more.
What is the most rewarding part of your job? The most rewarding part is seeing all of our hard work come to life. When we brought Flume last spring, we were up for 20 hours straight putting the stage together, setting up sound boards, and taking everything down. The best part was watching the show and having friends tell me it was one of the highlights of their year!
Can you tell us a little bit about what EC has in store for 2016? Right now we are focusing on finding venues that can hold a large amount of students, but are also economical so we can provide tickets at a lower cost. Sadly, Freeborn is still under construction so it has made our search a little harder. We are looking to have a couple of larger shows during Spring quarter! What is your favorite thing about Davis and why? I love the people. The people here are so kind and awesome. I have made some amazing friendships.
What is your dream job? I would love to work for an entertainment company that specializes in youth culture marketing. I think working for a company like Red Bull or GoPro would be really fun too.
Who is your celebrity crush? The Biebs (guilty, sorry). Going steady since ’07.
What is the best place you’ve ever visited? Switzerland. It’s the most beautiful place I’ve ever seen.
What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done? I had hand surgery while studying abroad. That wasn’t fun, but it was pretty crazy. I also got on stage with Zedd in Vegas. That was crazy and fun.
What was the best part of being home for the holidays? Being back with my family and puppies!
Three words to describe yourself – Outgoing, adventurous, and social.
Who is your role model? My dad. He is one of the kindest and hardest working people I know. He also answers all of my questions, even the ones that I could probably find on Google.
What are you most grateful for? My family, friends, and the beautiful life I get to live!
