Erika Titus, an infamous TikTok content creator, has made a brave call to shave her head. She posted a TikTok on December 16th 2025, stating her reasons as to why she wanted to shave her head, and her hopes that this process would help her overcome her predisposition to fear.

Erika’s Statement

In her TikTok, Erika starts out with what led her to want to go bald. It was a lingering thought she had always had, but this particular night she states that she, “went down a whole rabbit hole of women who have shaved their head, and a lot of their videos made me really emotional. And I think I finally get it.”

“I would hate the way that it looks, but that’s exactly why I think I should do it”

“By the time in the growing out process where I start to feel super fugly and I really start to hate it. I’m hoping that at that point, my thoughts on beauty and femininity will have already changed. And that kind of stuff won’t really matter to me anymore.”

Erika explores the idea of how making a move that would alter her appearance drastically would not only make her more fearless but also encourage her to get rid of her people-pleasing tendencies and explore her own values and beliefs.

“I feel like my want to be beautiful has never really been for me. It’s always been out of like… fear? Like everything I do has been in the hopes that other people will like it, and for that reason, I feel that I don’t really know what I, myself, find beautiful.”

Erika’s decision to embrace her individuality and go on a long, and probably challenging journey in order to rediscover her own definitions of femininity and beauty is compelling. It’s worth considering the larger implications of her decision is making.

Every woman undergoes different experiences throughout their lives that shape who they are as an individual. Even when it comes to things that we all go through, our shared experiences have also been under different circumstances and at different times. Regardless of that, we are all put into a small category of what we should look like, dress like, or even act like, to be considered feminine.

Erika’s popularity and her fame may have also put more pressure on her to look a certain way to make others happy. Though her narrative never explicitly stated what makes her feel pressured to feel beautiful to others, all we know is that if wants to rediscover and redefine beauty and femininity for herself.
