10 Vines that Make Me Happy Even on My Darkest of Days

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCD chapter.

It has been over a year since Vine shut down, and I still watch Vines almost every day. There’s just something about them that make me laugh out loud when I’m alone or with friends and bring my mood back up when I’m struggling to get through the day. They bring people together and can create a foundation for friendship. Vine is truly amazing, and I owe a lot of my laughter to it.

Here is a list of 10 vines I search for when I need a few laughs:

1. “And they were roommates”

This vine makes me laugh every time because of its simplistic humor. It teaches me that we can find the funny things in life even from just observing the people around us.

2. “Hi, welcome to Chili’s”

I wish this was how one actually got greeted when they walked into a Chili’s.

3. “Can I get a waffle?”

I love how he’s still so polite even though he’s not getting what he wants. We can learn a lot from his patience and ability to keep a sense of humor even in stressful times.

4. “Nice Ron”

Even in their short argument, I can still feel the love between this elderly couple (at least that’s the backstory I’ve given them) even while they are giving each other sass. They inspire me and teach me that no relationship is perfect even when you’re looking at cool things like deer.

5. “I like pickles and I Can Shoot Three”

I don’t know why I find this Vine so funny. I think this child’s joy of the fact that he loves pickles and can indeed shoot a three brings a smile to my face every time I see it.

6. “I could’ve dropped my croissant”

This man is so relatable.

7. “Wow”

This vine shows us how mesmerized boys can get over the simple things girls do, and I find it hilarious.

8. “I brought you murder”

I’m always a huge fan of puns, especially when one makes them alone in their car and feels the need to play the role of more than one character.

9. “Look at all these Chickens”

This child makes me feel smart because those are obviously not chickens. Also pro-tip: this is a very easy vine to remake yourself.

10. “Road work ahead”

Again, more puns in cars. You really can’t go wrong with that.

Vine may be gone, but these videos and my laughs are very much still alive!
