Should You Buy It, Or Deny It?

Recently I have been having issues with my BENEFIT COSMETICS ‘Hello Flawless!’ Oxygen Wow Liquid Foundation, as it has been budging and has been a little patchy on my dry areas. When I first started using this foundation I was in love! Since I am normal to dry skin, in the winter I was super dry and the dewy look was great on my skin. However, the weather conditions in Riverside have changed, and now the foundation on my skin has been wearing off, and has not been looking at its best. Typically, I am not the type to wear face primer unless I am going out to a special event and need my makeup looking fabulous all day. However, with the issues I was experiencing with my foundation I was not ready to ditch my foundation, but I was on the hunt for a new primer. I have been obsessing with the L’Oreal Youth code collection since it came out. When I saw they made a primer there was not a doubt in my mind that I was not going to try it. I usually am very hesitant with trying drug store makeup since I have very sensitive skin, and many drug store face products can break me out. I was lucky enough to try the L’Oreal Youth Code Pore Vanisher, and not have it break me out. Thus, I had to review it for you guys and share my input.

This product makes the claim that it will help vanish your pores. I do disagree with this claim, since I do not believe you can make your pores disappear forever, this has just not been scientifically proven. If you have an issue with your pores, you need to come to terms with the fact there is not a product out there that will make them disappear, you can only minimize the appearance of them and have them filled in with certain products. However, this product does reduce the appearance of your pores, and smoothes out your skin right from putting it on. It does have a slight scent to it, which is kind of a fresh girly scent but its nothing dramatic and I do not mind it. If you are familiar with the other items from this line, that’s what the scent familiarizes. On days that I do not have time to put on tinted moisturizer or foundation, I put on my moisturizer, and this product alone and my skin looks so smooth. It basically makes my skin look good and covers up minor imperfections which I love because it takes no effort to do this. However, it does not completely cover everything, so don’t feel like this can take away the place of a tinted moisterizer or BB cream.

After I put on my face moisturizer, I apply sun block, since I use a retinal product for my night skincare routine, it is imperative for me to apply sunblock. I highly recommend you all to add this into your morning routine, even though your moisturizer can claim to have sunscreen. It more than likely is not a strong dosage of sunscreen and your skin really needs to be protected from the sun. After I apply a layer of each product on my skin I do wait a few minutes for the product to seep into my skin. After the sunscreen is applied, I wait as long as I can, sometimes even 5 min (if I have the time), then I go in with my L’Oreal Youth Code Pore Vanisher primer. I apply it to the back of my hand and then press it onto my skin. By pressing the primer onto your skin, you are helping it seep into your skin, and if you have an issue with your pores this method works great for it to minimize the appearance of them. I do not recommend rubbing the item around your skin because that will not help it seep into your skin, and it will just sit there. After I apply the primer I wait a minute or two until I apply my foundation.

After the first time I applied the primer to my skin, I checked back around noon and my skin looked flawless! It made my makeup look like I had just applied it. This really made me fall back in love with my Benefit foundation. It also makes me feel comfortable with wearing just the primer and nothing else on my skin. I highly recommend this primer, because it works so well on the skin. It is also such a steal as it comes with a lot of product and it retails for about $19 at target! You can be generous with this product and it will definitely last you some time! If you don’t believe the hype, try it out yourself. Do keep in mind everyone’s skin is different, what does not work for me may work for you, and the other way around. I hope you found this product review helpful, and I hope if you decide to try it out that you fall in love with it just like I have!
