Top 14 Valentine’s Day Movies

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UC Irvine chapter.

With Valentine’s Day just a few days away, I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite rom-com and romance movies. Whether you’re planning to hold a Galentine’s party, watch a movie with your Valentine or embrace single life by snuggling in bed with a bowl of popcorn, here’s a list of the top 14 movies to watch this Valentine’s Day.

1. 500 Days of Summer

This is the perfect movie for anyone who’s ever questioned the meaning of romantic love or whether your true soul mate exists.

2. P.S. I Love You

Get your tissue boxes ready because P.S. I Love You will leave your eyes puffy and swollen.

3. How to Be Single

If you find yourself struggling to wrap your head around being single this Valentine’s Day, I would recommend this movie. Who says you need to be in a relationship to live life to the max?

If you’re planning a Galentine’s night-in, Bridesmaids is bound to get the party started!

5. Sleepless in Seattle

Sleepless in Seattle is a classic film to watch on Valentine’s Day. Should we rely on serendipity to bring the right person into our lives?

Sometimes the craziest nights lead us to the greatest surprises.

8. 13 Going on 30

If you’re looking for a movie that will make you laugh, cry, smile and cry again, then I would highly recommend this film. 13 Going on 30 captures the innocent love we experience from childhood and its transformation as we enter adulthood.

Have you ever wondered what if you had followed your heart and took a chance? What If explores the complicated emotions we can’t avoid.

11. Warm Bodies

If you’re not into mushy-gushy love movies, I would recommend Warm Bodies. There’s nothing quite like a good zombie movie on Valentine’s Day.

12. When Harry Met Sally

Is it possible for men and women to just be friends? When Harry Met Sally is a classic film that captures this question we’ve asked ourselves over and over again.
