Some Classy Restaurants for Some Classy Ladies: Places to celebrate Mother’s Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UC Irvine chapter.

It is that time of the year, where we put some time aside to appreciate the one of the most important women in our lives, our mom. That’s right, Mother’s Day is just around corner on Sunday, May 8. Rather than giving your mom that homemade card along with the popsicle stick frame
(Note: that gift combination should not be given to your mom pass the age of six), HerCampus has found some restaurants near UCI. So, if your mom decides to visit you in Irvine, take her to one of the following restaurants. Treat your mom and yourself, the poor, starving college student, on this special day.

Daily Grill
If traditional American food is you and your mom’s favorite, then try the Daily Grill. Located at two convenient locations near UCI, the Daily Grill is having a Mother’s Day brunch special. The menu includes traditional American favorites such as prime rib, eggs benedict, French toast.

Mimi’s
Even though this restaurant is a chain, for some reason most moms love this place! Perhaps, it is for its home-like décor, comfort food favorites, reasonable prices, and friendly staff. Mimi’s has about everything on their menu: ranging from quiches to hamburgers to salads. Opened for breakfast, lunch and dinner. So any time of the day will satisfy you and your mother’s hungry.

La Brisas

A little bit of a drive from Irvine, but I love this place for brunch. Located in Laguna Beach, this place is perfect to enjoy some yummy Sunday Mexican-styled brunch while overlooking Laguna Beach. For Sundays, they have a four-course meal that also includes champagne and another drink beverage. So if you are in a festive mood, try Las Brisas. Tip: Try to make a reservation because this place does get pretty busy.

Melting Pot
If fondue is your forte, then try the favorite fondue restaurant, Melting Pot.  For Mother’s Day, this fondue favorite restaurant is offering a four-course meal for $45. A little pricey, but it seems well worth it since it comes with a Mother’s Day gift and glass of champagne. Feeling a little cheesy then dip some bread and vegetables in some yummy fondue.

Il Fornaio
Caio Bella! Il Fornaio is a delicious Italian restaurant. Great service and great food. For Mother’s Day, II Fornaio is offering a special brunch menu along with their regular lunch and dinner menu. In Italian, this place means “the Baker,” and the name fits this place because the bread along with the food is fresh.

Brasserie Pascal
This is one of my mom’s favorite restaurants, whenever she visits me. She loves the French décor and food. Brasserie Pascal does offer a Mother’s Day special brunch for $29.95 per a person. But if brunch is not your thing, then try the fixed menu. Selected entrees are $10 per a plate or get a three-coursed for $18. Great food for a great price.

These restaurants may be a little pricey, but moms everywhere deserve that special meal. And nothing bonds a mother and daughter more than good food and a good time. Think of this way to thank your mom for all of those delicious home cooked meals that she has provided for you.
