Halloween is right around the corner and chatter of possible costume ideas are underfoot. There is nothing more fun then getting to dress up. However, store-bought Halloween costumes are not only expensive, but are usually bad quality: the fabric is either itchy or prone to rip. On top of this, Halloween is only a one night ordeal. Why waste your money on a costume that you will only wear once when you can make one out of clothes from your closet or for cheap? Here are some easy costumes that you can quickly put together before your fun night out.

1. Belle from Beauty and the Beast

Nothing was better than seeing a childhood classic come to life earlier this year by none other than the amazing Emma Watson. Not only was the movie a huge success, but Princess Belle has two recognizable costumes that would be sure to impress this Halloween season. The first option is town Belle. All you need it a blue dress, a white blouse, and a white apron. Top it off with a blue hair bow and a classic novel to carry around.

The second Belle option is perfect for anyone going for a more glam representation of this beloved character. The only mandatory item for this costume is a yellow dress. Feel free to choose either a long or short dress, but try to keep it flowy if you want to stay more true to character. To finish the look, style your hair in a half up-half down hairstyle. Bonus Points if you carry around a red rose.

2. Georgie from It

The movie It, based off of the world renowned Stephen King novel, broke multiple box office records this year, including the highest grossing R rated horror movie in history. This simple costume is perfect for scary movie fans. The only item needed for this costume is the iconic yellow raincoat, but for those trying to go all out, accessorise with a red balloon and a paper boat.

3. Unicorn Frappuccino

Here lies one of the most iconic food trends of 2017: the unicorn frappucino from Starbucks! This costume is perfect for any sugar lover or Instagram trend follower. While this costume may take a little more time to make, it will definitely wow your friends. Start off with a magenta or hot pink dress. Next, take some blue felt and cut out some wavy lines to represent the syrup. After cutting out the felt, glue it to the dress with either fabric glue or a hot glue gun. To finish off the costume, attach the Starbucks logo and some bunched up coffee strainers or cotton balls to represent the whipped cream.

4. The Old Taylor Swift

I’m sorry. The old Taylor can’t come to the phone right now. Why? Oh! ‘Cause she’s dead!

One of the top pop culture moments of 2017 has to be Taylor Swift’s new music. To everyone’s surprise, however, the music is the complete opposite of what her fans were expecting. Swift’s new, edgy vibe is a complete reversal from her country and pop roots. Here is the perfect costume to lament the loss of her old music style before plunging into Reputation, coming out in November. For this costume, you can choose any iconic outfit from previous Taylor Swift music videos, but one of the easiest and well known costumes to replicate is from her “You Belong With Me” music video. To get this look, all you need is a white t-shirt with sharpie signatures, pajama bottoms, and some nerd glasses. This costume is perfect if you are looking for a last minute costume as these items are more than likely already in your wardrobe.

5. Melania Trump Going to Texas

If you are looking for more of a political or funny Halloween costume, this is the one for you. Wherever you may lie on the political spectrum, there is no debate that the First Lady’s outfit when going to help with Hurricane Harvey relief was something of a spectacle. To achieve Melania’s look, don a black top, pants, and an army green bomber jacket. The most integral part of this look are the infamous “flood heels.” Any pair of black heels will work, but the more impractical, the better. Lastly, throw on a pair of black aviators, and voila! You are officially Melania Trump.

6. Catch Me Outside

Whether you loved her or hated her, this girl definitely had an impact on our pop culture this year. From TV to a meme, this costume will definitely be a crowd pleaser. This is probably the easiest costume of the list with all you need being a black tank top, a nude bra, hoop earrings, and a sassy attitude. Feel free to grab some temporary red hair dye to go the extra mile.

7. Mia from La La Land

Winning multiple Oscar awards and the hearts of many, La La Land was an international hit. From it’s fantastic music to spectacular cast, La La Land is a super fun movie to draw Halloween inspiration from this year. To become Mia from La La Land, throw on a plain yellow dress and tap shoes. If you do not have tap shoes, not to worry, just switch out tap shoes for black ballet flats. This costume would also work perfectly as a couple costume.

8. Pregnant Kylie Jenner

Rumors of the youngest Kardashian-Jenner’s pregnancy recently took the internet by storm, so what other convincing do you need to be her for Halloween? To be this social media star, all you need is a tight fitting dress, heels, a wig, and a pillow or balloon to act as your baby bump.
