UC Irvine makes it a priority to offer students numerous on-campus resources to help them achieve academic success, plan out their career paths, apply for graduate school, and access basic needs. As students, it’s in our best interest to take full advantage of these wonderful resources and reach out to the counselors, administrators and students who make this possible. Here are a couple on-campus resource centers that you should definitely check out this winter quarter!

1. Division of Career Pathways (DCP)

The Division of Career Pathways is in 100 Student Services I, just across from the Student Center Starbucks. This quarter, the career counselors have organized numerous workshops to help students find internships, jobs, and explore different careers with their Career Discovery Series. Take a moment to stop by their office to ask for a resume review or schedule a one-on-one counseling session.

2. Social Science Academic Resource Center (SSARC)

The Social Science Academic Resource Center is in SBSG 1230, down the hall from the Social Science Academic Office. Here, social science students can learn how to find internships, get involved in research, and apply to graduate schools. They also offer GRE/GMAT/LSAT study material, printing services, a public speaking program, and computers for students to work on their homework. They also offer free bagels and coffee on Friday mornings!

The SOAR Center is in 106 Gateway Study Center, across from Langson Library and nestled around the corner of Gateway Study Center. The SOAR Center aims to help students achieve academic success and on-campus engagement through their student outreach programs and retention programs. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, they offer free coffee and PB & J sandwiches, so stop by and learn more about their programs to help first generation students navigate life at UCI.
