What Meme Are You Based on Your Zodiac Sign?

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UC Berkeley chapter.

What do memes and zodiac signs have in common? Nothing, except the untempered popularity they both share among college-age populations in Berkeley (and everywhere else, really). They can be described as nothing but a product of creative millennial minds, yet they’re integral aspects of youth culture now. What’s left to do besides combine them? So, without further ado, here are currently popular memes and their astrological counterparts.

Scorpio: Woman yelling at a cat meme

As a scorpio, there is a lot of intense, chaotic energy that you tend to mask. This meme is a representation of your inner self and your outer self — on the one hand, the serious, emotional side and on the other, an almost apathetic, easy-going side that covers it up (most of the time).

Cancer: “im baby” meme

Source: https://twitter.com/Moeshayan/status/1098890904490803200?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1098890904490803200&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.thrillist.com%2Fentertainment%2Fnation%2Fbest-memes-2019

As a cancer, you truly are the baby of the zodiac. Not that that’s a bad thing! You feel a lot and enjoy being taken care of. You can be somewhat manipulative, yet always keep an innocent exterior, which this meme represents pretty well.

Libra: Kombucha girl meme

Libra, represented by the scale, is, unsurprisingly, the most indecisive one. These people are incredibly easy going and rational, yet in their search for balance, they have trouble deciding on things. This meme exemplifies their struggle in choosing how they feel about something, switching from one judgement to the next rapidly. Just like kombucha girl and her ever-shifting feelings about kombucha.

Virgo: this conspiracy meme

The Virgo is a perfectionist and an overthinker. They tend to need to know the answers to things and always get to the bottom of issues. Sometimes, at the expense of their well-being and sanity. As illustrated in this meme from the TV show “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” the Virgo can get swept away in their dedication and perfectionism.

Gemini: Spiderman pointing meme

The Gemini has a split self: one they show to others and one they keep to themselves and close friends and family. Many times, the persona they show to others can become exposed and they’re caught in their own game. Thus, this sign epitomizes the two Spidermen catching each other in public, pointing at each other and asking the question, “which one is the real you?”

Taurus: Traveling Spongebob meme

Taurus is probably the most creative and imaginative Earth sign in the zodiac. They love luxury, expressing themselves, and idealism. They can also be quite stubborn and LOVE food. This transformative, immersive French spongebob meme appeals to their idealistic love for travel, luxury, and food.

Sagittarius: “Let me in” meme

Source: https://imgflip.com/memetemplate/171598402/Eric-Andre-Let-me-In-Meme

Adventurous and social, Sagittarius is a sign that needs stimulation and excitement. If they don’t get it, they become moody and quite demanding; they feel as if they’re trapped or fenced in. Thus, this chaotic Eric Andre meme fits their energy quite nicely.

Aries: “Here we go again” meme

Source: https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/ah-shit-here-we-go-again

Aries, in their ambitious pursuit to accomplish all their goals and reap the benefits quickly, get annoyed with the mundane. They get very frustrated when focusing on details, instead wishing to dedicate themselves to the bigger picture; the main goal. However, they do what they have to in order to succeed, so their reluctance to the monotony of minute tasks can best be explained in this meme.

Pisces: Me explaining to my mom meme

Source: https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/me-explaining-to-my-mo

Pisces is a general happy, free sign that follows their emotions. However, worst case scenario, they can have mental blocks when the option to express themselves isn’t available. When this happens, they can get very emotional and feel like their efforts are futile. Just like this meme, they hit a wall, get frustrated and then cry. Not to worry, though! The Pisces is a water sign, so they always find a way to funnel their creativity, stay afloat, and keep swimming.

Capricorn: John Mulaney meme

Source: https://twitter.com/nocontxtmulaney/status/1077428355337576448

Capricorn is a sign that just can’t find enough hours in the day. They’re the most prone to hide their true emotions and build a wall in order to get things done. This can make them seem cold and distant at times, yet most of the time, they have a generally relaxed disposition. However, when the time comes that they need to confront their emotions, they reason with, “Now, we don’t have time to unpack all of that.”

Aquarius: Area 51 meme

Source: https://www.dazeddigital.com/life-culture/article/45816/1/over-2-million-people-going-storm-area-51-facebook-event-nevada-lil-nas-x

Aquarius is the sign most likely to be from space. They are irregular, fluid and hard to understand completely. Regardless, they have a lot of untapped creative energy and can create things most people can’t fathom themselves. They go against the grain, but hey, they’re usually really funny, just like this meme!

Leo: this Mariah Carey meme

Source: https://www.buzzfeed.com/alexalvarez/i-got-an-a-in-being-elusive

Leos are the prima donna of the zodiac. Animated, theatrical, and a constant need for attention describe these signs the best. When they get called out on their “all about me” mentality, just like legend Mariah Carey, they “can’t read suddenly.” They just “don’t know.” No hate though, these signs almost always have the talent and drive to back it up
