2025 is coming to an end and countless book adaptations hit the big screen this year, including very popular ones like The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han and Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. However, 2026 is gearing up to top this year in terms of book-to-screen projects. These are some of the upcoming book-to-movie and TV show adaptations that I’m most excited about.

I’ll first start with the most binge-worthy TV shows that will help get you ready for next year, since there are so few pieces that fall into that category. First on the list is a college hockey romance series that is set to release next year: The Off-Campus series by Elle Kennedy. The first book in the series, The Deal, has been reported to be the blueprint for the first season of the show. Another teenage romance book coming to the screen is Every Summer After by Carley Fortune, and lastly in the book-to-TV-show section is a fan favorite that will be coming back for its fourth season: Bridgerton.

For book-to-movie adaptations, there are many more productions that I am super excited to watch, and many have been reported to release next year. In the romance genre, there is a novel set in college called The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood, a summery romance vibe in People We Meet On Vacation by Emily Henry, and an older classic with an amazing soundtrack attached to it: Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte.

In the action-packed genre there are many movies that will be coming to the screen. A fan-beloved movie franchise will be getting another installment, which will be a prequel to the original trilogy is Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne Collins. Last on the list, an adaptation of Greek mythology will be heading to screen this summer: the Odyssey by Homer.

Finally, in the fantasy genre, there is only one film that I am very excited to watch which is a remake of a movie by an amazing female director Greta Gerwig: The Chronicles Of Narnia by C.S. Lewis.

With this list of book adaptations, I can’t wait to enter the new year looking forward to watching some of my favorite books come to life. Whether I watch them at home or on the big screen, my year will be filled with so many binge-worthy shows to look forward to watching alone or as a fun activity with friends and family.
