Being that I love watching movies, and fall is my favorite season, I’m going to bless you all with my favorite fall movies. Some of these are obvious and classic, and some are more random that just give me fall vibes for no real reason. Fall is the best season to just relax and watch movies with your loved ones, so please enjoy this list!
1. Fantastic Mr. Fox
Okay, starting with an obvious one. This is the most exuding-fall-vibes movie ever! From the adorable woodland animals in sweaters and ties, to the beautiful nature imagery of sprawling fields and trees, to (of course) the warm burnt orange color palette, this movie immediately makes one think of fall. The plot is literally about a community of cute little animals trying to protect their neighborhood, and it’s so so well done. It’s also a stop motion animation, so it’s automatically captivating. This is personally my favorite Wes Anderson movie, so even if you’re not convinced by its fall theme, please just watch this movie — it’s so amazing.
2. When Harry Met Sally…
Another classic fall movie! The visuals of fall trees and walking in New York are just so pretty, and it’s definitely one of the best rom-coms of all time. The chunky sweaters and fall outfits are just so superior in this movie. It’s overall such a cute story and a must-watch.
3. The Craft
Such an iconic cult classic! All you need to know about this movie is that it’s about a bunch of teenage girls who are witches and can literally do no wrong even when they are committing crimes. This movie actually invented style, like you definitely have their outfits pinned on your Pinterest board. If you want a goth version of Mean Girls that’s perfect for Halloween this is your movie.
4. Juno
Another perfect fall movie, but it has something none of the other ones have: Michael Cera. If that’s not reason enough to watch this, just know this has one of the most unique dialogue styles and some of the funniest characters ever, while also being such a captivating story. Maybe it’s the orangey color palette, the indie rock soundtrack, or just the energy it gives off, but it’s definitely a great fall watch.
5. Jennifer’s Body
If you listen to Fiona Apple or Lana del Rey you’ll love this movie. I honestly recommend going into this one with no context because the plot and dialogue is so absurd you’ll enjoy just figuring things out by surprise. This one’s perfect for Halloween and spooky vibes — definitely scarier than the others, so not for people that can’t deal with some gore. It’s such a fun movie that doesn’t take itself too seriously, will make you laugh so hard, and literally has Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried, so that’s enough incentive to watch.
These are some of so many fall movies to watch this season, so I really encourage you to look on TikTok or Letterboxd for inspiration for more! Have fun watching!
