As a freshman at UC Berkeley, what are you most looking forward to this year? I’m really looking forward to meeting a lot of new people, taking more classes that aren’t just pre-reqs for my major, and getting more involved in campus activities.
What kind of campus activities are you looking to join? I joined a sorority which is a great way to meet people, and I’m also interested in joining a business professional fraternity or a pre-med club, because I’m both pre-Haas and pre-med. I’m on two dance teams and Cal Club Badminton, and I want to join a sustainability club because I want to help Berkeley achieve its goal of having no waste by 2020.
How did you end up at Cal? I have always loved UC Berkeley. My entire family has gone here and I didn’t get into Stanford. It’s close enough to home that I can visit relatively easily to do my laundry, but far enough away that I can feel like an independent adult. So I applied, was accepted, and then was like “that’s lit.”
What are your goals for Berkeley and how are you planning to achieve them? My biggest goal here is just to graduate. These first few weeks have really taught me that Berkeley won’t be a walk in the park, that I really have to work hard in order to get that double major. I know that being a student here will be a really fun, yet tough and character-building experience, but I could not be more excited!
