I’LL BE THERE FOR YOU

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UC Berkeley chapter.

Just as I fall asleep, the phone rings.

My mother is stuck on the side of the road with a flat tire, but it’s late at night and AAA said it’s going to take a while.

I don’t have a car, no one else is home, and her phone is at two percent so there is no chance at a rideshare.

She’s on the side of the freeway in between two exits and I don’t know her exact location.

I was just about to fall asleep, but now I have to go take care of her like she took care of me.
