Healthy Holiday Eating Habits

Want to enjoy the treats that the Thanksgiving and Christmas have to offer without packing on a winter coat? Diana Rodriguez, certified health coach at California Yoga Sport, offers some easy ways to stay fit this holiday season:

  • Find a workout buddy who has similar goals to you and plan your workouts together in advance, especially after a big party! It will keep you from over indulging the night before.
  • Make your favorite desserts raw if possible or substitute any refined sugar for maple syrup, honey or agave.
  • When you’re going to a party where healthy foods are scarce, eat a delicious healthy meal before, once at the party you can focus on family and friends not hangover foods like sugar and alcohol.
  •  Don’t deprive yourself.  Have your sweet fix in moderation. Sweets are even sweeter when split with loved ones and you can save room for healthier options.
