Exercises after Thanksgiving

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UC Berkeley chapter.

Thanksgiving is a day filled with lots of food and laughter. But we all know that food coma—that slump after all the food is gone, where everyone just looks dazed.

So here are a few tips to re-energize with some exercise!

  1. Go for a walk. I mean, who doesn’t like strolling around in the nice autumn weather?

  2. Put on some music and play some board games. These days, we have the tendency to snack on things after large meals—which really doesn’t help with digestion. Instead of sitting around and eating unhealthy snacks like salty potato chips, get your groove on and/or set up a board game to bond with friends!

  3. Check out Huffpost’s “3 Thanksgiving Workout Strategies”! It’s always nice to get some endorphins flowing! Just a warning, though: Don’t do it too soon after you eat, or else you might get sick!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! Remember to express your gratitude to those around you!

Student | Feminist | Idealist "To love. To be loved. To never forget your own insignificance. To never get used to the unspeakable violence and the vulgar disparity of life around you. To seek joy in the saddest places. To pursue beauty to its lair. To never simplify what is complicated, or complicate what is simple. To respect strength, never power. Above all, to watch. To try and understand. To never look away. And never, never, to forget." -Arundhati Roy
