Sure, carving pumpkins and decorating houses is fun, but can you eat those things? No. That’s why half the fun of Halloween is being able to make and eat all the spooky treats under the sun (or moon). Whether you’re hosting a Halloween party, watching a horror movie with friends, or just want to bake something cool, here’s a list of the best sweets and snacks to satisfy those holiday cravings.

  • Chocolate-Dipped Pretzel Sticks

This crunchy-sweet treat is a simple recipe but, when decorated well, looks amazing for any party or gathering. It’s as easy as taking pretzel sticks, dipping them in colored chocolate, and decorating with halloween-themed sprinkles or a black and orange chocolate drizzle. It’s super fun to make and is the perfect mix between sweet and salty. Stick upright in Halloween-themed cups to add a touch to the presentation!

  • Chocolate-Dipped Marshmallow Pops

This treat, much like the pretzel sticks, is a really easy treat to make but is not for people without a reasonable sweet tooth. Simply take marshmallows, dip fully in white or milk chocolate, and immediately roll in colored sprinkles. If you’re feeling creative, you can even dip the marshmallow into green-colored chocolate and get black gel food icing to pipe eyes, stitches, and hair. Now you have a Frankenstein’s monster Marshmallow pop!

  • Pumpkin-Cream Cheese Swirl Cake

This recipe is a little more complex, but the work is well worth it when you can bite into a warm slice of pumpkin bread. However, this treat has a twist (or a swirl). The pumpkin mixture (butter, sugar, eggs, pumpkin puree, vanilla, water, flour, pumpkin pie spice, baking soda, and baking powder) is mixed with the cream cheese mixture (cream cheese, eggs, sugar, and vanilla) and swirled with a toothpick. The end result is a beautifully marbled cake perfect for snacking or dessert, with a side of milk, coffee, or hot chocolate. This is the perfect cozy autumn treat!

  • Franken Toast

Who says Halloween treats have to be sweet? The last treat is a savory one, but nonetheless a wonderful way to have fun while both cooking and eating the final results! To make this themed toast, take avocados, mash them up and spread them on the toast. Next, use blue corn tortilla chips to form triangles and line them up on the top of the toast to form his hair. Finally, use a pretzel stick to form the nose, olives for the eyes, and red bell pepper or tomato for the mouth. And that’s it! You have a delicious, savory avocado toast and a little piece of artwork, too. Don’t be afraid to eat it if you feel it’s too perfect; art is made to be enjoyed and halloween food is made to be eaten!
