4 Events to Check Out in SF During President’s Weekend

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UC Berkeley chapter.

The spring semester always feels so much longer than fall, can you believe it has merely been one month since school started? It would be a shame not to take advantage of the three-day weekend so if you haven’t started planning yet, here are some ideas for you!

1. SF Nude Valentine’s Day Parade-   Castro, SF, Saturday @10am

If you’re a fan of parades, love, and good vibes, this celebration might be just right for you! It’s all about promoting love for yourself, love for your body, and love for others.

2. Tulipmania- Pier 39, SF, Sunday @ 10am

If you’re into romantic scenes, there are free guided tours for 39,000 blooming tulips right by the Pier! You won’t want to miss these flowers.

3. SF Beer Week- All across SF @ all weekend

Look for the 600 events all across the weekend and at every club and bar! There are a bunch of concerts that go along with these events so if you’re not into the alcohol, find a concert night performance that you find entertaining!

4. Peanut Butter Jelly Time- SF @ 12:00pm

For a good time and a wonderful cause, dress up like a banana in a banana costume and pass out peanut butter jelly sandwiches to the homeless. Bring the peanut butter jelly and supplies and ziplock bags to help out!

UC Berkeley '19

As a senior undergraduate, I seek out all opportunities that expand my horizons, with the aim of developing professionally and deepening my vision of how I can positively impact the world around me. While most of my career aims revolve around healthcare and medicine, I enjoy producing content that is informative, engaging, and motivating.  In the past few years, I have immersed myself in the health field through working at a private surgical clinic, refining my skills as a research assistant in both wet-lab and clinical settings, shadowing surgeons in a hospital abroad, serving different communities with health-oriented nonprofits, and currently, exploring the pharmaceutical industry through an internship in clinical operations.  Career goals aside, I place my whole mind and soul in everything that I pursue whether that be interacting with patients in hospice, consistently improving in fitness PR’s, tutoring children in piano, or engaging my creativity through the arts. Given all the individuals that I have yet to learn from and all the opportunities that I have yet to encounter in this journey, I recognize that I have much room and capacity for growth. Her Campus is a platform that challenges me to consistently engage with my community and to simultaneously cultivate self-expression.
