Who Will Take the Crown?

For the 2011-2012 Mr. and Ms. UAB scholarship competition have ben increased to $2,500 for the winner and $1,000 for second place. The prize money will be awarded in equal amounts to both the male and female winners. These students must possess leadership qualities and academic success. Need some scholarship money? Feel like you have what it takes? Pick up your application in the HUC room 110 or apply online at alumni.uab.edu. Just be sure to apply before October 14!

The USGA will be in charge of the voting process, and voting will take place on Monday and Tuesday of homecoming week. The winners of the scholarship competition will be announced at halftime of the homecoming game. Once crowned, Mr. and Ms. UAB become the leaders of the Student Alumni Society and student representatives on the NAS Board of Directors.

Jaime is a junior at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. There she is the captain of her varsity golf team and a journalism and English double-major. She is an active member in the Student Athletic Advisory Committee where she helps organize volunteer opportunities and social functions for student-athletes at UAB. Jaime enjoys cooking, entertaining friends, reading/writing blogs, fashion, and of course, golf. She aspires to eventually write for a major magazine or write chick-lit books.
