The UAB theatre department will be presenting Postcards to J. Bird, an award-winning play from alumnus Stephen Webb. Webb, a 2009 graduate, wrote the play in 2008. Since then, his play has won a Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival 2011 David L. Shelton Full-Length Student Playwriting Award. According to UAB News, “The play stars students Trista Baker of Warrior, Noah Holcomb of Empire, Natalie Kinsaul of Corner and Koskinen, M.F.A., UAB associate professor of theatre, as Joanna.”

Play Schedule:
November 9-20:
Wed-Sat: 7:30 pm
Sunday: 2pm matinee

General admission tickets are $12; students $6; UAB employees and senior citizens $10. Call 205-975-2787

Postcards to J. Bird is about a mother’s problem with denying her past and denying one’s own truth. It tackles themes of abandonment, conformity and identity.
