You are probably wondering what is Diamond Girls, right? Diamond Girls are a volunteer, student led group that promotes the UAB Baseball program. The UAB Diamond Girls are considered to be the face of the Baseball program, as they are the first people fans see when they walk into the field and the last face they see on their way out. While the team competes on the field, the Diamond Girls interact with guests to ensure they have the best experience possible while attending a UAB Baseball Game.
What do the Diamond Girls do? The most important part of a Diamond Girls position on the team is to work Baseball games. At these games, Diamond Girls assist with Marketing such as greeting, handing out programs, throwing t-shirts to UAB fans, as well as other small activities.
Diamond Girls are expected to comply to a 10-game commitment, at which each girl picks 10 out of the 30 home games she would like to work. Dates of the games range from February to May. As well as helping to ensuring Family Day, a scrimmage between the players, and the Meet the Team Banquet are a success. The Diamond Girls assist the Baseball team in two fundraisers: A 100-inning wiffleball game between the Diamond Girls and players as well as a roster t-shirt fundraiser, in which each Diamond Girl is required to sell a minimum of three shirts.
Lastly, Diamond Girls are required to participate in the “Bat Buddy System”. Girls who accept a position with the group are assigned one or two players to have as Bat Buddies. Girls are then required to get their bat buddy(s) 4 gifts throughout the season at assigned time points, along with participating in locker room decorations.

Applications are due on Thursday Sept 20th at the UAB Baseball Office, 1212 University Blvd, Ulman Building 236. Interviews will be held on Monday Sept 24th, Wednesday Sept 26th & Friday Sept 28th from 9-2pm.
