Christian Siriano’s Spring 2012 fashion show was in Birmingham: Check it out here: http://www.hercampus.com/school/uab/christian-siriano-comes-birmingham and needless to say, it was a smashing success. Some color trends such as coral, chartreuse, and beige were popping up all over his runway. Accessories, hair, and makeup were muted, which allowed the clothes to take center stage. Here are a couple of ways to work Christian Siriano’s runway trends in the hallways:

1. Work the palatte: Creams, greens, and corals are HUGE for spring, so if you’re feeling bold, rock it from head-to-toe, but if you’re not sure how you feel, toss on a lime green scarf and some coral lipstick to ease into it.

2. Accessorize, but not really. The brightly-colored clothes act as your accessories, so pair them with ladylike hairstyles and simple jewelry. Christian Siriano gave models a deep side part and clean makeup. With this trend, less is more. As you can see, the only jewelry the model has on is a silver ring.

3. Rock one edgy piece to keep the outfits from feeling too “grandma”. The long skirt may look more conservative than a standard mini, but the body-hugging fit adds curves. Paired with a coral shirt, the colors really stand out, but my favorite part are the sunglasses. The round shape adds a cool factor to the outfit and keeps it from looking too “blah”.

Hope this helps! Try the trends and show us your favorite outfit!
