Are you tired of re-watching the same few movies over and over again? If you are then these movies may be for you. These movies present strong female leads that fight for themselves and the people they care about.

  • Wonder Woman – Gal Gadot

Gal Gadot debuted as Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2016 and a short year later appeared as the star of Wonder Woman. In this film, Wonder Woman discovers the world of man and its many flaws; this leads to a journey with the goal of stopping the raging war in the world of man. This film is filled with action and maybe just a hint of romance. Gal Gadot’s success as this iconic character has helped set the stage for future female superhero films.

  • The Hunger Games Franchise – Jennifer Lawrence

The Hunger Games Franchise began in 2012 with its adaption of the first book in the series, The Hunger Games. It’s lead actress, Jennifer Lawrence, plays the role of Katniss Everdeen. The franchise follows the lives of Katniss and her male counterpart Peeta through their Hunger Games and the revolution that follows. These movies have no shortage of action and are full of shocking twists. This franchise spans four movies based on the three books in the series; the final book, Mockingjay, was split into two parts.

  • The Harry Potter Franchise – Emma Watson

The Harry Potter Franchise is one of the most well known movie franchises. It features the story of Harry Potter as he faces powerful enemies. He doesn’t face them alone; the young wizard has the help of his friends. Emma Watson plays one of his best friends, Hermione Granger. She is highly intelligent and fearless when it comes to protecting those she cares about. The movies are magical and full of adventure. Over the course of the franchise’s story there is deep character development that brings the characters and their journey to life.

  • The Avengers Franchise – Scarlett Johansson

Scarlett Johansson debuted as Black Widow in Iron Man 2 and has since appeared as the hero five other times. She will appear again, as the assassin turned hero, in the much anticipated Avengers: Endgame. Black Widow is a martial arts master and a specialist when it comes to weaponry. She has fought as an Avenger against Loki, Ultron, Thanos, and many other villains. This franchise is action packed with occasional comedy. The newest addition to this franchise, Avengers: Endgame, is set to be in theaters April 26, 2019(USA). It is also rumored that there may be a Black Widow movie in the works.  

  • The Star Wars Franchise – Carrie Fisher

The Star Wars Franchise is quite possibly the best known movie franchise; even if someone hasn’t seen the movies they have probably heard of them. Carrie Fisher has played Princess Leia in many of the Star Wars movies, including the original in 1977. Leia led many different paths; she was part of the rebellion, a Jedi Knight, and even a leader in several capacities. This franchise consists of nine adventure filled movies.
