So, this past Tuesday me and some of my girls all decided to have a girl’s night to go see the highly anticipated IT. For those who don’t know what IT is, it’s a film based on Stephen King’s novel of the same name. IT is basically this demonic looking clown who comes out of the sewers every 27 years to prey on the children of the town. IT taps into your biggest fears and can shape shift into any and everything. Sounds intriguing, right? Well from one fellow horror movie lover to the next: don’t waste your money.

IT was probably one of the worst “scary” movies that I’ve watched in a while. The trailers are very deceiving and what perplexes me the most is that it received an 88% on Rotten Tomatoes, what?!! Even though I only paid $5 to view the film, shout out to $5 Tuesdays, I still regret the moment the cashier swiped my card to watch this horrendous film.

Not only was I highly disappointed, but to make things worse the movie lasted 2 hours and 15 minutes! The ONLY thing that makes up for this sorry excuse of a horror movie is that it was way more of a comedy thanks to my favorite character from the film,Richie Tozier, better known as Finn Wolfhard from my current Netflix obsession Stranger Things (great show, season 2 coming in October!!). Whenever I felt the need to get up and walk right out of the theater he came in clutch with a hilarious anecdote that was much needed in this bizarre film.

All in all, IT sucked don’t waste your money. Go buy yourself a meal instead and remember…you’ll float too.
