It’s about that time of the year when you want to stay inside by the fireplace a sip a nice warm drink. And what drink could be more seasonally appropriate than a hot chocolate!

If you have been trying to make more vegan choices to help save the planet, you can still enjoy a delicious home made hot chocolate with just as much depth and flavor (if not more).

Here’s what you need:

20 oz of a plant-based milk of your choice (I usually use oat milk) 2.5 tablespoons of unsweetened coco powder 1 tablespoon of honey, maple syrup, or coconut sugar .25 teaspoon of vanilla extract Toppings of your choice (coconut cream, cinnamon, nutmeg, etc.)

Warm your milk over medium heat on the stove for about 5 minutes. Add the coco powder, sweetener, and vanilla extract and whisk for about 2 minutes. Heat for another minute and then serve with your toppings of choice!
