Winter lip colors can range anywhere from mauvy nudes to deep purple, and they are so fun to wear. Makeup can be expensive, but the drugstore has really been stepping it up these past few years. It’s not necessary to spend over $20 on a good lipstick these days, which is great if you are a makeup hoarder like me or a broke college student, also like me. I have found so many amazing, affordable lip colors that have not let me down over the years. This list has a variety of colors to suit many different skin tones with all the finishes you love, including matte, satin, glossy, and metallic.
1) Cool Nude by Essence Cosmetics
This is a cool-toned mauvy nude shade with a slight sheen. It’s good for everyday wear or paired with a deeper smokey eye.
2) Point Zero by Colourpop
An ultra satin lip in a cool-toned medium brown. This is a really cool color with great lasting power. It’s moisturizing on the lips and doesn’t accentuate dryness.
3) Addis Ababa by NYX
A matte, berry-toned, bright pink. This color looks beautiful with just mascara, and it can brighten your whole face.
4) Devotion by Milani
This liquid lipstick dries as a beautiful, matte, deep, ruby red shade that’s perfect for Christmas.
5) Love Bug by Colourpop
This warm, deep, terracotta shade dries as extremely matte, but is very comfortable on the lips. I promise you it won’t budge all day.
6) Tuscan Toast by Milani
A red wine shade with brown undertones. This lipstick has a beautiful sheen to it and is gorgeous for the holidays.
7) 3-Way by Colourpop
This ultra-metallic lippie is a medium purple with bronzey-gold reflects. It’s a super fun color sure to bring the attention straight to your lips.
8) Purple Prelude by L’oreal
A true, glossy purple with a hint of mauve. This color is absolutely gorgeous on top of lipstick or on its own. It’s very pigmented so it has pretty great lasting power for a gloss.
9) Scarlet Night by e.l.f.
A deep purple with berry red undertones. This matte lipstick is cheap and it looks great on the lips.
