Coming into college, many people choose a a major because they feel that it will give them a job that brings them a lot of money. Later they find that they are stressed and unhappy for no reason. I feel that it is truly a struggle for college students to really find a major that is for them and represents what they are passionate about. At first, I chose a major that I thought would make me the most money. In the end, I found out quickly that its not all about the money and that it’s all about being happy. Are you passionate about your major?
Here are 5 things to ask yourself to test if your major is truly for you. Your responses may be an indication that your major isn’t exactly for.
1. Are you excited to go to your classes?
2. When you think of the future, is money the only thing that you are worried about?
3. Can you truly say that you can spend the rest of your life doing this?
4. Are you doing this because you want approval from those around you?
5. Does this major make you truly happy?
