Midterms may be sneaking up on us all, but so is Halloween. Though it’s important to study, it’s also important to give yourself a little break. Thankfully, we’ve compiled the spooky events going on in October around Laramie to not only get you in the autumn, Halloween spirit, but to also give you a break from the books. The list is going to be updated as we know more, so be sure to check back!
October 13 & 14, 27 & 28: Hay Days and Fall Festival
A ticket to this celebration at the Vee Bar Ranch is $13 in advance and $15 at the door, but gives you access to quite the fall themed adventure! You can pick out a pumpkin to carve, listen to live music, take a horse drawn wagon ride and get food and drinks, of course. There is also a special event that changes each day, so it’s well worth the money, if you ask me.
October 20: Homecoming Parade & Football Game
Homecoming is always around Halloween, so it’s no surprise the Homecoming Parade falls just about a week before. It starts on 9th and Ivinson at 8 a.m. The game is at 12:30 p.m. against Utah State.
October 19 & 20: Laramie Ghost Tours
If you like ghost stories, then this is for you. For $15, you can take a haunted hayride through Downtown Laramie to hear ghost stories at various stops. Reservations are required to go, so make sure you do that before you arrive at the Train Depot to depart on the spooky journey.
October 27: Rocky Horror Picture Show
The classic Halloween musical will be making its annual return to UW campus, so be sure to join your fellow students to do the Time Warp! It’s always interactive and light-hearted, making it the perfect study break.
More to come! Stay tuned.
