We Are Her Campus: Sydney Stein

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Wyoming chapter.

Name: Sydney Stein

Year: Senior

Degree Sought: Communication

Hometown: Breckenridge, CO/Moorpark, CA

Her Campus: Why did you decide to attend school at UW?

Sydney Stein: I’m paying for school myself and UW was the best deal. Thank goodness, because UW has given me so many amazing opportunities!

HC: Why did you choose your degree?

SS: I started off as Education, but decided it wasn’t for me. Communication is broad, so it allowed me to take more time to decide what I want to do with my life.

HC: What is your dream job?

SS: Professional food critic. Jet pack tester. The person who writes book synopses on the inside of jacket covers. Mattress rater.

HC: What are some of your hobbies?

SS: Reading. Trying to stay woke.

HC: What is your favorite class/professor at UW?

SS: I loved Race, Gender and Ethnicity in the Media with Dr. Patton. The readings were interesting, and I learned a lot.

HC: What advice would you give to freshmen?

SS: Get as involved as you possibly can! Find out what you like, and stick with it. Don’t stop trying new things. That’s how you make friends and find your community and make a difference.

HC: Why did you join Her Campus?

SS: Because Emily Cornell told me I should.

HC: What is your favorite article/event/memory from HC?

SS: My Taylor Swift article.

HC: Why would you encourage someone else to write for HC?

SS: You can write whatever you want, you meet lots of really cool women, and your voice gets heard!

HC: What are you most looking forward to moving forward in HC?

SS: Writing more interesting stories and talking to more neat women!
