It’s National Book Month- Take Some Time to Read!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Wyoming chapter.

October is National Book Month! I love a good read, so I figured I would share a few of my favorite reads. These are just a few of the books that bring me back into their pages every once in a while

1. The Perks of Being a Wallflower

This book by Stephen Chbosky is my absolute favorite book. The Perks of Being a Wallflower toyed with all of my emotions and opened my eyes to a whole new world. I strongly believe that this book is why I fell in love with psychology and helping others.

2. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Askaban

All of the Harry Potter books are amazing, but this one is by far the best. The introduction of Sirius Black and Remus Lupin (two of my favorite characters) made this book for me. Learning more about the history of Hogwarts and the adventures of early characters was truly exciting for me. I was also recently gifted the illustrated version of this book. 10/10 recommend!

3. Today, Tomorrow, and Everyday

This book is a combination of short poems and affirmations. I specifically love the illustrations and motivational words that fill each page. This book makes the perfect gift for someone special in your life.

4. The Book Thief

I first read this book in middle school and have since read it at least ten more times. I love fictional books that take place in World War II time periods. Told in the voice of Death, this book is sure to make you cry, laugh, and fall in love with the characters. I highly recommend you check this one out.

National Book Month is just another reason to open up your favorite book and spend some time reading!
