Hey, collegiettes! Homecoming is already underway for the 2015 school year. The University of Wyoming Homecoming celebration started on October 10th and will finish up on October 17th. There are quite a few events throughout the week hosted by the University, officially listed here. Here is a quick list of some of our favorite Homecoming Events!
The Big Event on Saturday, October 10th was a way for students to give back to the community of Laramie. The Big Event started early Saturday morning with breakfast and a live band. Then students were sent off to show their appreciation for the community. On Friday October 16th, The University Store will be hosting Fan Friday. This is a chance for the University to offer some last-minute discounts! Come to the store and get an exclusive long sleeve shirt for only $12! The shirts are available all day Friday, but there is a limited amount so be sure to snag yours quickly!
Saturday, October 17th (tomorrow!) is the final day of celebration for Homecoming at the University of Wyoming. The day will start with a parade at 9:30 AM. All floats will be decorated with the theme, “Once A Cowboy, Always A Cowboy.” Shortly after the parade, the Pokes Pre-Game Pep Rally will begin at 11:00 AM in the Marian H. Rochelle Gateway Center. At the pep rally, fans will get the chance to take pictures with Pistol Pete and the members of the UW Spirit Squad. Head Football Coach Craig Bohl will give a speech, and then the UW Cowboy football team will march their way to War Memorial Stadium with assistance from the Marching Band. Don’t forget about the Pepsi Pregame Zone in the indoor practice facility which will also begin at 11:00 AM. There will be food and drinks available, as well as Cowboy fan gear! There will also be plenty of entertainment for the family to enjoy with games and live music. This will be nothing short of a good time!
Kickoff for the game is scheduled at 2:00 PM. The Cowboys will be hosting the UNLV Rebels (2-4). Be sure to show up in your Game Day Gold and cheer loud. Let’s bring our Cowboys to their first victory of the 2015 season! Go Pokes!!
