Galentine’s Day: How to Properly Celebrate Valentine’s Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Wyoming chapter.

Okay, we all know Valentine’s Day is coming up. For some of us it is an exciting holiday filled with love, flowers, chocolates, teddy bears and anything else that shows how much you care about your S.O. However, for others not so much, just the idea of seeing all these thoughtful gestures on February  14th either makes us want to puke, or we are secretly wishing to be in their position. But let’s face it, it’s a holiday that happens every year and it is never going to go away, so you might as well enjoy it.

Welcome to Galentine’s day. A day that all of you single ladies out there should celebrate. Instead of being depressed about not having a S.O. on V-day why not have some fun with your gal pals?! Here are a few ideas to make this day just a little bit better.

Dress up and go out to dinner.

If you don’t feel like going out, have your gals over for a wine and movie night.Go buy yourself some chocolates and flowers too, they will look quite lovely in your room. While you’re at it, take some pictures with your squad, you can never have enough of thos Heck if none of these options work for you, there’s always the one where you can treat it like any other day and “forget” it was Valentine’s day in the first place.

The point is, it doesn’t matter what you do, as long as you’re spending it with people that you love and care about.
