The Best First Date Destinations in Laramie

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Wyoming chapter.

A first date requires a good location. You don’t want to commit to a long dinner date in case things go south, but you also want to make sure you can actually get to know the person. Here are a couple of places I’ve gone to for first dates in Laramie or places I would like to go.

1. Bond’s Brewery

Bond’s Brewery has great first date vibes with its laid back atmosphere. It’s big enough that you can get away from people and have your own little area to talk. It also only requires you to commit to a drink. There are also a ton of card and board games if there’s a lull in conversation. I just went on a first date there, and it went great!

3. Coal Creek Coffee

Coal Creek is another great place for a low-key first date. Again, it just has a great first date atmosphere. It’s usually pretty busy, but it still feels intimate with its little tables. I’ve also gone on a first date here, and I felt like it was the perfect spot to get to know somebody.

3. Anong’s or Thai Spice

If you’re looking for a dinner date, I feel like Thai food is the way to go. It’s something a little different and fun. You don’t want to just go get burgers! What’s unique about that? Just don’t go for something too spicy. Speaking from experience, it’s not cute to be panting with a red face on a date.

4. Front Street

Front Street has the absolute best drinks in town. Like, you have to try them asap. It’s a little bit “fancier” than Bond’s, and I feel like it gives you the excuse to dress up. You can also get some delicious food from Sweet Melissa’s while you have your drinks.

5. Big Dipper

Who doesn’t love a cute ice cream date? You can sit on the little swivel chairs and look out the window. Plus the ice cream there is amazing!

6. Sonic

Ok, I know what you’re thinking, but I think Sonic is the place to go for the most lowkey of lowkey dates. You can grab some milkshakes and just sit in one of the stalls until you’re done. I have actually gone on two first dates there, and they both were a success.
