5 Shows to Binge Watch Over Spring Break

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Wyoming chapter.

Are you going somewhere cool for spring break? Are you just going back to your parent’s house for about seven days? Okay, well this will give you a chance to get back to what is most important in life and no- I’m not talking about reconnecting with family and friends- it’s more important than that. I’m talking about finding a new show to binge watch. Spring break is the perfect time to start, finish or catch up on a new show, especially if you don’t have any really big plans. So here are 5 suggestions of what you could binge watch over spring break.

1: Stranger Things

Okay, so of course Stranger Things was going to be a suggestion. It is one of the most popular shows on any streaming service. The show is full of humor, action, suspense, and most importantly it’ll give you a feeling of 80s nostalgia. With only two seasons on Netflix, this show would be a quick and satisfying watch.

2: Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp

Paul Rudd, Amy Poehler, and Bradley Cooper, playing teenagers? Sign me up! This soon-to-be classic series is based off the 2001 film Wet Hot American Summer. It includes an all star cast of comedians, and is the type of show that you should watch if you don’t want to think but just wanna laugh. Besides, it should be a quick watch due to it only being one season long. Also, if you enjoy this series you can check out the sequel Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later.

3: Fuller House

Maybe college is making you feel too much like an adult and you want to be reminded of your childhood back in the day when you watched an unhealthy amount of Full House. Thankfully there is Fuller House, the sequel series to Full House focusing on DJ Tanner all grown-up and raising her own family. Although one could argue it is way too cheesy for its own good, so was the original Full House. The show is currently only three seasons, and would be an easy watch for a bored college student on spring break.

4: Riverdale

A teen drama series based on Archie comics? Yeah, I was surprised too, but Riverdale has grown to become a very popular television program. This series explores the darker side of the seemingly perfect small town of Riverdale. Throughout the series you get know such residents and American comic book icons such as Archie Andrews, Jughead Jones, Betty Cooper, and more. The series itself also has very interesting visual style, and with only one season available, this is another show that’ll take little-to-no-time to finish.

5: Freaks and Geeks

Finally, this cult classic show starring now famous celebrities such as Seth Rogen, James Franco, and Linda Cardellini is highly recommended. It’s one of those shows that falls into the “ahead of its time” and “ended too soon” categories. Freaks and Geeks is considered one of the greatest television shows of all time and is about teenage life in the early 80s. It’s filled with tons of comedy and drama that any teenager can relate.  Like many others on this list, it wouldn’t take much time to finish the whole series since it was cancelled after only one season.

I hope these suggestions were helpful, as any time watching Netflix is time well spent.
