5 Female Artists To Help You Get Your Groove Back

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Wyoming chapter.

To be totally transparent, I’ve been dealing with some boy related problems lately. After spending a few days feeling bad for myself, I decided it was time to get my groove back. Rejection can be a total blow to the self confidence. It’s easy to forget who you are — which is an awesome, strong, intelligent woman. So if you’ve been looking to be empowered, here’s some artists to check out.

1. Lizzo

Do I even need to mention Lizzo? She’s the queen of confidence. Lines like, “He don’t love you anymore, so walk your fine ass out the door” are hard to argue with. Her music is like a pep talk.

2. Ashnikko

Ashnikko is new to me but I have been listening to her on repeat lately. Two songs in particular that have been making me feel undefeatable are “Daisy” and “STUPID.”

3. Miley Cyrus

I have always been a Miley Cyrus fan, but her recent music has really been hitting different. “Mother’s Daughter” and her newest song “Midnight Sun” are good reminders that you’re a force to be reckoned with.

4. Ms. White

Ms. White has a bunch of awesome, jazzy songs. There’s one song in particular that has really been my jam lately. I’ll let you look it up for yourself.

5. Doja Cat

Doja Cat is another artist that goes without saying. Her music is perfect for dancing in your room and feeling unstoppable.
