Why You Should Definitely Go to Disneyland for the Holidays

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Vic chapter.

With the holidays approaching, I am ecstatic for my trip to Disneyland. Not only is it one of my favourite places to travel to, but it is also spectacular during the holiday season. Lights are hung from every corner of the park. It is transformed into a magical winter wonderland—with 20 degree weather and Californian vegetation. There aren’t many places where you can be engulfed in a traditional Christmas scene while also being surrounded by palm trees.

I am fortunate enough to be travelling to Disneyland this year with my boyfriend to celebrate the holidays after Christmas and for New Years. It is the light at the end of the tunnel as we forge our way through numerous exams and the brutality of student life at the end of a semester. But it isn’t just because we are travelling to the “happiest place on earth” that I am so excited and grateful. I am appreciative that I will be able to have some down time, and to not stress about grades or any of the other pressures of university life.

The holidays are always my favourite season. It is a time to spend with family, friends, and all the other people around you that make mundane life special. I hardly get any time to spend with those I love the most, so it is these breaks that keep me level headed. I hope you have happy holidays in whatever shape or form it takes place!
