Hello lovelies, welcome to a new semester and a semi-new Her Campus for U Vic’s Chapter! Not only do we have two new Chapter Leaders (myself and Savannah. Hi!), but we also have new ways and ideas to make HC more accessible and as inclusive as ever.

Last year, HC’s meetings were held completely online through Zoom, as with most classes and clubs, but one of the (better) things we got to take away from this was how accessible HC has become for those who were living outside of Victoria. Whether you live in another town, in other provinces, or even in another country, you can participate from anywhere across the globe! This is something that we would love and want to continue implementing so that we can allow for any one to join whenever they wish and grow our ever-so lovely and amazing team!

For this year’s UVic’s Her Campus, we have decided to continue holding Zoom meetings (and possibly discord chats) for those who may not be currently residing in Victoria but would still like to be involved in campus life. These Zoom meetings will coincide with in-person meetings, which will be held for those who are in Victoria attending in-person classes and are on campus.

Another new change for our Chapter is we have moved our communications onto Slack, where our various teams (executive, editing, social media, writing, etc.) will be able to communicate under one platform. This will also allow for our members to freely choose however many and whichever teams they wish to be a part of.

If you are interested in participating, please visit us at Clubs Day on September 15th and 16th from 10am-4pm. Or, feel free to contact us for more information at hc.uvic@hercampus.com

We hope this will encourage you to reach out and join Her Campus at U Vic, and we hope you had a great start to your new school year!
