On September 19th 2014, the much anticipated Mystic Market finally opened its doors to the public. Featuring nine unique kiosks all with UVic original recipes, the Mystic Market puts its own tasty spin on healthy meals. The market itself was made with the West Coast in mind, and features a living wall, waterfall features, and earthy colours to bring the beauty of the West Coast Trail and the Mystic Vale into the cafeteria. What results is a modern and vibrant space that celebrates all things West Coast from its local ingredients to its décor. This is also UVic’s first zero-waste facility on campus featuring only compost and recycling bins to give back to the community and its environment. Located in the University Centre it’s conveniently located inside the Ring and features a little bit of everything for everyone, as seen below.

Basecamp

Basecamp is an all day breakfast kiosk that features free-range eggs, bacon, and other morning favourites. It’s a breakfast-lover’s paradise and a perfect way to start your day.

Berries

As one of the most popular new kiosks, Berries is the best stop to satisfy your sweet tooth. You can customize your own insta-worthy waffle, treat yourself to some locally made gelato and even make your own parfait at the parfait bar. What better way to relieve your midterm stress than indulging yourself with waffles and ice cream on campus?

Board Walk Café

Similar to the likes of Maclaurin’s BiblioCafe, Board Walk features a variety of specialty coffees, teas, and pastries. As a bonus the lines at Board Walk are typically shorter than Biblio’s and offers most of the same yummy items.

The Chop Box

Looking to get your noodle fix on campus? Well the Chopbox is the place for you! It has lots of different types of noodles, sauces, and fresh vegetables to create a stir-fry that meets your needs. Plus they have a take-out option for quick access to a hot meal.

Recommended: Red Thai Satay

Flamin’ Good Grill

Featuring burgers, fries, and BBQ favourites, this kiosk puts it’s own West Coast spin to its classic grilled items.

The General Store

This kiosk sticks to its name and acts as UVic’s very own corner store. Much like the Village Market in residence, The General Store focuses on healthy snack options that help power you through your day. Some popular options include their sushi, pre-made wraps, and selection of fresh fruit.

Tofino’s

Self-proclaimed as “West Coast Italian Cuisine,” Tofino’s features a vast selection of pasta and pizza. Their pizza selection is always changing, and their speedy service makes for a quick meal in a hurry.

Treks

Featuring Panini’s, soups, and salads, Treks is one of the best lunch spots on campus to grab a quick and healthy bite. Made with artisan breads and fresh ingredients, their sandwiches are a perfect option to add some fuel to your day.

VegOut

Inspired by residence’s Village Greens, VegOut is a vegan and vegetarian kiosk that makes people forget their eating vegan.
