It is a truth universally acknowledged that the year of our Lord 2016 was, in short, really shitty. So, with only a month left for this pathetic excuse of a year to end, it’s time to leave it all behind and start thinking about all the good stuff next year has in store. Here are some of the things to look forward to this upcoming year:
Beauty and The Beast
Disney’s live remake of this wonderful classic will be on theatres March 17, and we can’t wait for it! Starring Harry Potter’s Emma Watson as Belle and heartthrob Dan Stevens from Downton Abbey as the Beast, what more could you ask for? This romantic tale as old as time will no doubt capture our hearts again. March can’t come soon enough…
Sherlock
Three. Years.
Three long years we waited, and now the day is drawing near! The fourth (and possibly final) season of BBC’s Sherlock will air on New Year’s Day and will consist of three hour-long episodes, as usual. According to writer and creator, Steve Moffat, this fourth season will be dark – a devastating emotional upheaval that will make the third season’s heart-breaking finale pale in contrast…
Stranger Things
The successful Netflix show has been confirmed a second season for 2017. There will be nine episodes, one more than the first, and new characters will join the old cast. Speaking of which, there’s a lot of speculation as to what happened to Eleven. Is she alive? Will she come back?! We’ll have to wait for 2017 to find out…
iPhone 8
Next year Apple will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of the iPhone, and it will go all out to mark the special occasion. The new model will be released next September and will feature new screen sizes, an all-glass design, and…get ready for it…no home button.
Baywatch
Picture this: Zac Efron and The Rock… as sexy lifesavers. I didn’t know I wanted this until I saw it with my own two eyes. A reboot movie of the 90’s TV series starring both actors will be released in May of next year, and honestly, what more would you need to know now other than there will be a shirtless Efron throughout the entire film?
If none of these things got you excited, well, you should still rejoice. At least 2016 will be over for good…
