Our Favourite Thrift Spots in Victoria

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Vic chapter.

Here are some of HerCampus’ favourite thrift spots to shop in Victoria. If you’re looking for a cool place to find some hidden treasures these should be first on your list!

Pandora Beacon Community Thrift (715 Pandora St)

This low-priced treasure trove is located on Pandora — just off Douglas (Vic’s main downtown street). My favourite thrift stores are more on the jumble-sale side, with just a little bit of everything on offer and some surprising hidden gems. This place has homewares, a cozy library section for well-thumbed novels, and plenty of men’s and womenswear too. Sometimes, they even put out freshly baked bread for members of the community — now that’s good customer service!

Sarah Roberts (Masters Art History and Visual Studies)

Upcycle Clothing Collective Consignment And Quality Goods (100-517 Fort St)

While I love hitting up regular thrift stores, sometimes I want to cut out the searching and find something cute right away. This is the place to do it. The staff at Upcycle are always welcoming, there are great discounts on clothes that have been on consignment for a long time, and it’s right in the heart of downtown. If you need a curated second-hand shopping experience, add this spot to your list.

WIN (Women in Need) Resale Shop (785 Pandora St/1803 Cook St)

A classic for many Victoria thrifters. WIN is an affordable place to find unique finds. I have yet to find an unreasonable price (looking at you, Value Village) with their items, and many items are new with tags! With four locations to serve you in greater Victoria, WIN has everything from kitchen supplies to vintage coats.

Connections Consignment Shop (1-9783 Third St, Sidney, BC)

Connections has one of the best second-hand Lululemon sections in Victoria. Although it’s a little bit of a drive up the Peninsula, it’s worth it. They also have lots of items from Aritzia, Zara, H&M, and Garage, all at an affordable price!
