Campus Cutie: Ryan Isherwood

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Vic chapter.

YEAR: 4th

MAJOR: Financial Math and Economics

HOMETOWN: Vancouver

ACTIVITIES: Cheerleading and school… that’s pretty much it.

RELATIONSHIP STATUS: Single

Meet Ryan, the captain of Vikes Cheer! This spunky guy has a great sense of humour, a knack for colourful hair, and is very full of life. He is definitely someone worth getting to know.

HC: Pick a cartoon character to describe your personality.

I want to say Mabel from Gravity Falls, but I’m not cool enough to be her.  So I’ll have to go with Tina Belcher. I feel like we have a lot in common.

HC: What’s something that makes you really uncomfortable?

Going to other people’s houses for the first time. I have to stand around for like 15 minutes to get used to my surroundings before I can sit down.

HC: What is your favourite song to dance to at a party?

Anything by Ariana Grande to be honest. Or Uptown Funk!

HC: If you were an animal, what would you be?

An owl because they seem put together and wise. Plus it would be pretty cool to fly.

HC: Where’s the most likely place to find you on campus?

On the second floor of the library. I’m always there.

HC: What’s your favourite thing about Vikes Cheer?

Probably everything! It’s the most important thing in my life right now.

HC: What’s the best thing about UVic?

Me! Just kidding… Probably the weather or the people or something like that.

HC: Best Mario Kart power-up?

I don’t need power-ups; I’m always in first.

HC: Dream job as a kid?

A veterinarian because I love animals.

HC: What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done?

I pulled an all-nighter once… Does that count?

HC: If you could have dinner with any celebrity who would it be?

Khloe Kardashian. She’s my favourite.

HC: If you could be any age for a week what would you be?

Either like 7 or 75. I have no reason behind 7, but I’d like to be 75 to see what’s in store for me. Plus seniors’ discounts seem nice!

After her undergrad, Femi hopes to read law and master French, Spanish and Italian. She is an active volunteer in her community and enjoys working with the Rotaract Club on campus. Having filled numerous notebooks as a child, Femi adores writing — especially short stories. She likes to dance (spontaneously), listen to all genres of music, laugh loudly and be the sassiest person in a room. In her spare time, Femi likes to window shop online, go for runs and reorganize spaces. One day, Femi hopes to perfect the art of soft pretzels.
