What is your favourite thing about UVic?
I love all of the people! I just love meeting everybody. I think UVic has such an awesome atmosphere and we’re so lucky to live in such a beautiful place.
Dream job as a kid?
You know what, I’ve always wanted to be a teacher. I’ve just always loved school and loved kids and I don’t really see myself doing anything else.
If you could throw any kind of party, what would it be like?

If you were offered a plane ticket to anywhere in the world and money was no issue where would you go and why?
I’d want to go everywhere. Everywhere, everywhere, everywhere! Oh my goodness yes, after I graduate I actually want to go teach English as a second language somewhere, and I honestly don’t know where but I just know that I want to do it.
Do you have any role models?
My mom, hands down. Just because she is definitely the kindest, most gentle person ever. People always say “you’re so nice Jaylynn” and I’m like, okay you have to meet my mom, I’m nothing compared to her.
What is your biggest fear?
I really don’t like spiders. That’s so stereotypical but hey, they really freak me out. Especially those big ol’ hairy ones that sneak out from corners.
Describe your ideal day.
It would be off campus. Get me off of this campus and away from the library!
What is the greatest advice you have received?
I guess to try your best and try new things – my mom’s always said that. One of my biggest mottos would be to treat others the way you want to be treated.
What is one thing you can’t live without?
Laughter!
