Year: Second

Major: Bio Psych

Hometown: Toronto

Activities: Getting tattooed, rocking out to country music, drinking tea

Relationship Status: Single

HC: Movies in the theatre or at home? Why?

I prefer them at home because it’s not expensive. There are more options and if you get bored of the movie you can switch halfway through.

HC: Where are people most likely to find you on campus?

Probably the Cornett building or by the fountain because a lot of my classes are in the Cornett building. I also had a lot of classes there during the summer so I love the little study area; it feels like a second home to me!

HC: What is your favourite book and why?

If I had to choose it’d be “The Giver” (by Lois Lowry) and I’m stoked that it’s a movie now. I read it in grade 8 and I thought a lot of the issues that it touched on were really profound.

HC: What’s your favourite thing about your major?
I love studying the brain ! I find it so interesting because there is so much that we do know yet so much that we don’t know. [It’s cool that] we are always discovering new things about the brain.I also like the fact that I get to work with people because I love helping people. I want to be there for other people and I want them to know that I am there for them.

HC: What is one thing that you can’t live without?
My iPhone. It’s my lifeline to my family back home and it’s how I stay in touch with them! If I didn’t have that I wouldn’t have any way to communicate with them.

HC: Who is your favourite Disney princess and why?

Ariel because I used to love swimming and I loved the fact that she lived underwater in a completely different world. Also Prince Eric was my favourite prince. I thought he was really cute; tall, dark and handsome.

HC: If you could give your younger self one piece of advice, what would it be?

Don’t overthink things. Let things go and realize that everything happens for a reason whether it’s good or bad.

HC: What chore do you absolutely hate doing?
I hate doing dishes. I like eating food but dishes get in the way of me eating food! I’ve really been contemplating putting Saran wrap on my plates and then just throwing out the wrap leaving the dishes still clean.

HC: Are you a morning or a night person?
Night person! I like to go out and if I could sleep all day I would but that’s not how the world works.

Femi Tunde-Oladepo is in her final year at the University of Victoria where she is studying at the Peter B. Gustavson School of Business. After her undergrad, Femi hopes to read law and master French, Spanish and Italian. She is an active volunteer in her community and enjoys working with the Rotaract Club on campus. Having filled numerous notebooks as a child, Femi adores writing — especially short stories. She likes to dance (spontaneously), listen to all genres of music, laugh loudly and be the sassiest person in a room. In her spare time, Femi likes to window shop online, go for runs and reorganize spaces. One day, Femi hopes to perfect the art of soft pretzels.
