If there’s one thing that most students are dependent on, it’s coffee. Not only does a hot drink on a fall day just feel academic, but coffee shops are a study space staple and honestly? Some essays cannot be written without caffeine. If you’re looking for a place to get your cup of joe and a yummy snack, we’ve got you covered.

Little June

1301 Gladstone Ave, Victoria, BC V8R 1R9

Nestled at the heart of Fernwood, Little June has an excellent atmosphere, outdoor seating and amazing iced chai lattes.

Milano Victoria

817 Government St, Victoria, BC V8W 1W8

This place feels upscale, refined and their espresso is to die for.

Hide + Seek Coffee

2207 Oak Bay Ave, Victoria, BC V8R 1G4

A small menu that packs a big punch, this is the place to go when you’re in Oak Bay.

The Urban Cup Cafe

3690 Shelbourne St, Victoria, BC V8P 4H2

This is the perfect place to study, just down the hill from UVic. They don’t just have tasty drinks, they also serve delicious and hearty meals.

Township Coffee

4343 Tyndall Ave, Victoria, BC V8N 5R9

Expect amazing customer service when you check out this Gordon Head café! They also have some delicious snacks.

QV Coffeehouse

1769 Fort St, Victoria, BC V8R 1J4

The coffee is good and they usually have a good supply of that classic, perfect, irresistible QV cheesecake. Plus, they have outdoor seating.

Gigi’s Café

1002 Hillside Ave, Victoria, BC V8T 2A3

This Quadra Village café definitely passes the vibe check. Amazing customer service and plenty of selection, my personal recommendation is their London Fog.

Dolce Vita

911 Yates St #160, Victoria, BC V8V 3M4

Right in the middle of downtown, you’ve definitely seen this place. But have you gone in? This place is the cutest and a reliable choice when you’re running low on caffeine.

Obviously, this isn’t an extensive list. There are so many places to explore in this beautiful, rainy city. Starbucks might be tempting, but supporting local businesses is part of building a community, and that’s something we need more than ever!

When she isn't writing for Her Campus or burning her eyes from staring at a screenplay that just isn't working, she's probably at home playing video games, watching movies (it's technically homework, she's studying them) or mindlessly scrolling through her TikTok feed.
