5 Things I Learned in Striptease Class

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Vic chapter.

I took a striptease class (it had no nudity and it was a girls-only class) and it was more fun and enjoyable than I thought it would be! Here are some of the things I learned:

1. Striptease is hard

It’s not all fun and games. It takes great abs and immense leg strength to perform a good striptease routine! This is why strippers have amazing bodies. Hard work pays off!

2. Preparation leads to inspiration!

First, set the “stage.” Make sure the room has enough space and that what you will use (sofa, wall, bed) is situated according to the routine you have in mind.

Then, set the mood. Consider the five senses:

1. Sight (some tips for looking good naked):

Eat lots of healthy foods (you are going to need energy!). Try to avoid having a stomach full of carbs or other foods that will make you bloated.

A subtle tan can help cover up fat, cellulite and stretch marks and can make your skin look more even. Try self- tanning moisturizers.

Wear subtle makeup.

2. Smell:

Use candles with subtle smells.

Clean the room and keep it tidy.

3. Touch:

Make sure your skin is soft by shaving and using body lotion.

Rid the room of unnecessary decorations that could potentially distract your partner

4. Sound:

Find the right playlist (10 songs minimum).

5. Taste:

Prepare a plate of red fruits, and have a bottle of champagne or your drink of choice ready.

3. The easiest way to take off your pants

The hardest part of the actual striptease routine was taking off the pants and making it look sexy. Here are some tips I learned:

  • Don’t rush it! Take your time while trying to look sexy and dancing slowly, always making eye contact every now and then with your partner.

  • To push your pants off, stick your thumbs into the sides of the pants. Then push one side after the other slowly by moving your hips side to side.

  • Don’t play with the zipper!

  • Wiggle your pants down past the hips, let them fall, then use one foot to hold the pants on the floor and raise other foot to set it free from the pant leg. Then repeat for the second foot.

4. A playlist for you! (Pick at least 4 songs)

  1. “Big Long Slidin’ Thing” by Dinah Washington

  2. “Blue Prelude” by Nina Simone

  3. “Bumps and Grinds” by Sonny Lester & His Orchestra

  4. “Buttons” by The Pussycat Dolls

  5. “Cream” by Prince

  6. “Pour it Up” by Rihanna

  7. “I’m a Slave 4 U” by Britney Spears, Britney

  8. “Lick” by Joi, Star Kitty’s Revenge

  9. “Pink Pussycat (Kitten Deville’s Theme)” by The Del Reys, Camp Burlesque

  10. “Purple Wail” by Red Prysock, Tease: The Beat of Burlesque

  11. “Yonce” by Beyonce

5. This sort of class is great for boosting your (sexual) confidence

Take the time to recognize any insecurities that you may have regarding sex and prepare for potential challenges. Let yourself feel sexy and transmit that sexyness to your partner!

I hope these striptease tips prove to be useful, and I hope you have fun stripteasing for your partner! If you would like a visual explanation, check out this video.
