Introducing Me: A Feminist

Updated Published
This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Toronto chapter.

To start off, I guess one could call me a dreamer. When I was little, I used to come up with little kingdoms I hoped to rule one day. Now, I am focused on my degree, hoping to help others someday (whatever that might look like). I am currently going into my second year studying Political Science and Women and Gender Studies with Trinity College, at the University of Toronto. One thing I would like to achieve through Her Campus this year is spreading awareness on feminist ideologies, and with Mental health support and resources for all people throughout anyone on campus life.

When I first applied to join Her Campus, I realized that through writing, I. was expressing myself, a type of faceless  communication that bonds many people across all walks of life. One important area of my writing that I would like to dedicate towards Her Campus this year is my stance on my feminist ideologies, and how once bonded together women can be stronger than ever.

I have recognized how important it is to concentrate not only on your own health and wellness while starting a new chapter of your life, but focusing on the people around you as well. Whether you are friends with someone or not, you never know what anyone on campus may be experiencing. Going into this year I want to focus on broadcasting impactful and influential news, strategies and ways we can help ourselves and others. I am definitely entering second year with a different attitude towards care and its importance on campus for fellow women. This is why I joined HerCampus; to express these ideas of care and how one can impact others so greatly through words, communication and expression.
