When we transition to the fall/winter season, it means that it’s now time to change up our makeup products to match with the season. Changing up your makeup looks gives you a chance to express yourself in a different way and maybe try out products you never tried before. Here are some staples that you need for the fall season and how to get them without breaking the bank.

#1: Dark Lipstick: Every one needs that one dark lip colour to bring out their inner dark side. An all-black outfit paired with a dark lip makes a statement during the fall/winter. If you find that you don’t feel dark lip colours look good on you, than you probably just haven’t found your shade.

Power Driven (Deep Wine Burgundy) – MAC Matte Lipstick – $22

Black Cherry – Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick – $6.46

#2: Chapstick (Lip Balm): Not a makeup product but a fall to winter essential. During the winter, your lips and skin become quite dry and you have to moisturize in order to avoid chapped lips or dry skin. Get yourself a chapstick or even two in case you lose one to keep your lips moisturized and avoid the chapped lip look.

Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm – $7.97

Shea Butter – Nivea Essential Lip Care Duo Pack – $2.98

#3: Neutral Eyeshadows: Time to pack away the colourful shadows and pull out the neutral matte colours. Brown, maroon, orange and other warm tones are great things to pull out for the fall season. Matte neutrals are great for a “no-makeup” makeup look or a dramatic smokey eye.

Too Faced – Natural Matte Eye Palette – $45

e.l.f. Mad for Matte Eyeshadow Palette – $7.97

#4: Dark Nail Polish: Pair dark nails with a dark lip for a dramatic look. Neons, and super bright colours are more popular during the summer but deep blues and reds seem to appear more in the fall season. It’s also nice to add one accent nail, maybe in a sparkly colour in order to brighten up the look just a bit.

Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear Nail Polish (Black Out, Mauve Over) – $2.77 or (2 for $5)

#5: Winged Eyeliner: Want to be bold? Wing out your liner for a more intense eye look. Down below are two recommended liquid liners you can use but you can also use gel and sometimes pencil liners to achieve the same look. You can have a winged eyeliner on its own or pair it with a neutral eyeshadow look to have the wing pop.

e.l.f. Expert Liquid Liner – $2.97

NYX Matte Liquid Liner – $7.00

#6: Highlighter: Every body wants a little bit of glow. It brightens up your face during the darker days of the fall season. Just swipe a little bit of highlight onto your cheeks, nose and cupid’s bow for that extra touch to your makeup look.

Fenty Beauty Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter – $34

e.l.f Baked Highlighter – $4.00

#7: Bronzer: Bronzer is the perfect makeup staple to complete your look. It helps make to make your face more defined by contouring. Bronzer comes in a variety of forms such as bronzer sticks or bronzer powder. You can achieve a bronzed look with a contour brush or beauty blender.

NYX Matte Bronzer – $9.00

e.l.f. Golden Bronzer – $3.97

Hope this helps you with your search for affordable makeup products for the fall season!
