Winter break is slowly approaching and most of us have that one question in mind: Where to go this year? For those of us who love to travel, winter break is a time to just get away, whether it be from school or just life in general. It can be difficult to decide where to go, but fear no more—here are some ideas for a winter vacation.

Mexico

Cancun, Tulum or Playa del Carmen? It doesn’t matter, because Mexico has at least 1,600 beaches. You’ll be sure to get your fill of sun and sand. But not to worry, if you’re not one to just sit at the beach all day, there are many local attractions to go and sightsee.

Florida

Want to travel without leaving the States? Then Florida is your destination. Key West is great for those who want a relaxed seaside adventure. And for those who are all about the night life, Miami Beach will be your new home. Jersey Shore didn’t have a season there just because, you know.

Costa Rica

Costa Rica is an underappreciated charm. It’s filled with rainforests, beaches and other breathtaking landscapes. Not to mention, its abundant wildlife will be sure to lead you to many exciting adventures. Hiking an active volcano, zip lining and surfing are just a few of them.

The Bahamas

Have you ever seen pink sand? Probably not. Head to Eleuthera, Harbour Island or Cat Island and experience it firsthand. The Bahamas is also home to the world’s third-largest barrier reef! And if that’s not convincing enough, the Bahamas has a long history with rum. Bahama Mama anyone?

California

California is one of the larger states in the U.S., so there is no doubt that there is an endless list of things to do. To describe this state in one word: diverse. Not only because of the many things you can do there, but because of its people and climate as well.

Bora Bora

This one is definitely on the pricier side, but hey, if you got it, flaunt it (as Beyoncé would say). As we saw on Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Bora Bora is anything but boring. With its clear blue waters and perfect white-sand beaches, this place is definitely the most mythical of the Pacific islands.
