As I’m writing this, I can’t believe that 2015 is over. I say that every year though; time goes by too fast. If you blink too much, you’ll miss a lot of great moments. I don’t remember everything that happened or even all the people I had the chance to cross paths with. For a third year in a row, I’m very excited for the new year and here are some reasons why.
1) Her Campus uOttawa’s Charity Fashion Show: Capital Catwalk
On January 30th 2016, Her Campus uOttawa will be hosting their 4th Annual Charity Fashion Show at the EY Centre. Join us for a night of fashion and great food, all for an awesome cause! All proceeds will go to The Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation. Some of the designers featured this year are Kristie Lance, Rebecca Rowe, Zarucci, and many more. Get your tickets here before the January 15th!
1) I am a Belieber, You are a Belieber…
You may not like the Biebs, but you must admit that his new album is quite amazing. So, it’s not a surprise that everyone is trying to snatch tickets to his upcoming tour. Justin will be at the Canadian Tire Centre on May 13th. Other artists who’ll be coming to town are Carrie Underwood, Selena Gomez and more. It’s going to be a fantastically musical year. Also, we all know the Queen, Adele, is going to be near town. Indeed, she is not coming to Ottawa, but she will be in Montreal for two night and Toronto for 5 nights, so you better get tickets for either of thoses shows. Who knows when Adele will tour in Canada again!
3) My Big Fat Greek Wedding…2
I am so happy about this upcoming movie. I was about 8 years old when I saw My Big Fat Greek Wedding for the first time with my mom. It was the first movie I ever saw at a movie theater. I fell in love then and still, after thirteen years, I am just as excited for this movie! In this continuation, we will be following the adventures of Toula and Ian’s daughter. The movie is set to release in March.
4) Winter Fun
Since 1979, our Capital has been having a winter celebration called Winterlude. Starting January 29th 2016, we celebrate the 38th Edition of Winterlude. Come skate, play, and see awesome ice sculptures with your family and friends.
5) New Year, New Shows, and New Suspense
At the moment, I am in withdrawal from all my favourite TV shows like Law & Order: SVU, Nashville, How to Get Away with Murder, Grey’s Anatomy, and many more. I can’t wait to see how my favourite characters evolve and see what plot twists get resolved. Some shows, like Pretty Little Liars, will be back in January. How excited are you about the #5YearsFowards continuation? However, for other shows we’ll have to be more patient since they’ll only be back closer to spring time.
