TV Fashion: Fall Premieres

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Ottawa chapter.

Fall has just started and so have our favourite TV series.  While some of them are returning for another season, and others are brand new, they all have characters with a great fashion sense! Here are some of our favourite looks from the fall TV premieres.

American Horror Story

These characters are definitely ready for Halloween- these well dressed witches are members of the Coven from the new chapter of the American Horror Story! Merging witchcraft and voodoo with the history of New Orleans and bringing it to modern times, this season is so much better than what we expected. With their hats and black dresses, the witches of the FX channel look absolutely fantastic.  From what we have seen until now, every girl seems to have found a way to put a unique twist on the classic little black dress. We all know what black is a classic, although this season it’s coming back in full force!  I personally look forward to watching Emma Roberts, who’s a starlet witch and is one of a hell of a troublemaker!

The Vampire Diaries

An all new season of The Vampire Diaries premiered on October 3rd. For the past few seasons, we’ve seen a lot of hot looks from the characters.  Fashion-wise, we can always count on Caroline to be well dressed, and she didn’t let us down. She was sporting a pastel coloured outfit on her first day of college.

Elena also looked great in her cute emerald and black party dress, too bad her appearance was cut short when she had to leave the party due to an unexpected death! This season, we’ve seen Katherine rocking her all-in-black look.  With all new intrigue for this season, we can’t wait to see what is going to happen next in Mystic Falls!

New Girl

Zooey Deschanel’s outfits on New Girl are always a great source of inspiration! Her character, Jess, is a young teacher with the ability to modernize any vintage outfit.  Her style is great and always reminds me of the 50s – in a good way.  On the other hand, her quirky style also brings out her inner tomboy when she wants to look good, but not too overdressed.  While her BFF Cece, the fashion model, is usually sporting a “being-sexy-without-really-trying” kind of look.

Witches of East End

The new Lifetime’s series, Witches of East End, brings some serious sexy witchcraft, as well as some killer fashion.  The newly engaged witch Freya wore an amazing red dress to her engagement party.  She surely got some trouble for it, but she was, the best-dressed girl in the room.  Her sister is more into the hipster-bohemian kind of style, which wasn’t extravagant at all, but simple, understated and elegant.
